Monthly Donation Day at SVPC
The next collection date is Saturday, April 7. Bring your usable discards, gently used clothing, etc., to the Presbyterian Home for Children’s reception center in the rear parking lot, below the playground of Shades Valley Presbyterian Church. Terry Tingle will be serving as host. Volunteers will be on hand to unload your vehicle and to give you a receipt for your tax-deductible donation. The center will be open from 8 AM – 12 noon. This is an invitation to attend “A Great Handbell Symposium” for handbell practitioners of all levels.  We are pleased to welcome Danny Lyons, Solo Handbell Artist and Clinician, to our city for a two-day event, April 14-15, 2018.  Saturday, April 14, features a workshop in the morning for beginners and one for more advanced ringers to follow lunch.  Lunch is more than a meal thrown together, but a time of great fellowship with other handbell enthusiasts and a fabulous cooked by our  church chef.  Sunday, April 15, Danny will be featured in the11:00 am worship service as well as a 3:00 pm Handbell Concert.  Please see the attached brochure and know that it prints out as a two-sided copy on LEGAL paper.  If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Calling all elementary Sunday Schools, church groups or families with elementary aged children! Living River will be hosting, in tandem with the Presbytery of Shepards and Lapsley, a River Palooza! This will be an excellent time for your elementary students to get a feel for Living River and everything we have to offer. Register as a group, bringing at least one chaperone for every six students.

 Living River is hosting a day retreat for Pastors! Join us for a day of relaxation, refresh and retreat. Our goal is to have one day where our wonderful Pastors can come to Living River and have time to themselves in God’s wonderful creation. We will have time together as a community as well as individual time for your own Sabbath. Tuesday, April 17th, we hope to see you there.  Register today.

Sunday-Monday, November 11-12 will be an overnight retreat for elementary children during the Veteran’s Day school holiday.

The Presbyterian Communicators Network

is offering a workshop to help churches, both large and small, to develop their communications plans and to provide training about media relations and social media. This workshop will be a daylong program and it will be on April 24, 2018 at Southminster from 9AM-3PM . Lunch will be provided and cost will be $15 per person.
