The presbytery offers a variety of events in many ministry areas throughout the year. From retreats and camps to workshops and fellowship, there is something going on all the time! Check this space regularly for presbytery sponsored events as well as information about programs at local churches.

 

Presbyterian Home for Children Thrift Store 

Monthly Donation Day at SVPC

The next collection date is Saturday, August 5. Bring your usable discards, gently used clothing, etc., to the Presbyterian Home for Children’s reception center in the rear parking lot, below the playground of Shades Valley Presbyterian Church. Terry Tingle will be serving as host. Volunteers will be on hand to unload your vehicle and to give you a receipt for your tax-deductible donation. The center will be open from 8 AM – 12 noon. Attention ALL Women of the Church
The Lectionary Light Bible group from Mountain Brook will host an Ordinary-Time Retreat on Saturday August 19th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Pastor Lant Davis will speak about history of the Biblical text and Amanda Davis will lead a discussion reviewing the Bible group’s activities since Advent of 2016 (beginning of Lectionary Year A) and plans for the fall and Year B (beginning Advent 2017).
Registration is $20 (including a binder, breakfast, and lunch). Pick up registration forms and additional information on the table in the church foyer/narthex. See retreat mailer  for more information.

 

 

Stewardship Kaleidoscope is an annual conference offering excellent plenary speakers, informative workshop leaders, provocative worship experiences, and incredible networking opportunities for all who are passionate about stewardship and generosity.
